the programme covers a wide range of general astronomic & space related topics. It used to be that, general topics own involved stellar life cycles, radio astronomy, artificial satellites, black holes, neutron stars and many others. A programme too covers what is happening at night sky at a period these are existence broadcast. This may be particularly interesting once something less green, like the comet or a meteor shower, is present.

Around July 2004, Patrick Moore was unable to make the broadcast due to a severe bout of Salmonellosis. He was replaced for this of these occasion per cosmologist Chris Lintott of University College London, but returned for the August programme.
